Explanation:

2x + y = 10, and 3x - y = 0

We will use elimination

2x + y = 10

3x - y = 0

-----------------------

5x +0y = 10

5x = 10

Divide by 5

5x/5 = 10/5

x =2

3x - y = 0

3*2 -y = 0

6-y =0

Add y to each side

6 = y
