First you need to know the rule that anything divided by itself will equal 1.

So no matter what number you use to substitute for m it will equal one because both the top and bottom of the division sign are the same. Except if you use negative 12.7 or a to high of a negative which will cause it to equal -1 which multiplied by 6.35 would equal -6.35
