Answer:
January 1, 1863
The Emancipation Proclamation changed the meaning and purpose of the Civil War. The war was no longer just about preserving the Union— it was also about freeing the slaves. Foreign powers such as Britain and France lost their enthusiasm for supporting the Confederacy.
Communicate faster and transport troops and supplies faster. ... he used total war against the south.
Step-by-step explanation:
President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, as the nation approached its third year of bloody civil war. The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free."
It changed the war from a struggle to a fight for freedom. How were African Americans able to participate in the Civil War? They could be sailors, noncombat roles, passed on information, and resisted slavery.
For the first time in the history of warfare, the telegraph helped field commanders to direct real-time battlefield operations and permitted senior military officials to coordinate strategy across large distances. These capabilities were key factors in the North's victory.
