Answer:

8, 10, 12

Explanation:

Because they are even there is a whole number x so that (1st)2x, (2nd) 2x+2, and (3rd)2x+4 are the 3 consecutive integers.

so

If the third is 8 less than twice the 2nd then:

3rd = 2 (2nd) - 8

2x + 4 = 2 (2x+2) - 8

2x + 4 = 4x + 4 - 8

2x + 4 = 4x - 4 Add 4 to each side

2x + 4 + 4 = 4x - 4 + 4

2x + 8 = 4x Subtract 2x from each side

2x - 2x + 8 = 4x - 2x

8 = 2x Divide each side by 2

8/2 = 2x/2

8/2 = x

4 = x

No we plug into our equations to find the integers.

2x = 2(4) = 8

2x + 2 = 2(4) + 2 = 8 + 2 = 10

2x + 4 = 2(4) + 4 = 8 + 4 = 12

So our integers are 8, 10, 12
