Steps to solve:

2x - 3 = 5x + 6

~Add 3 to both sides

2x = 5x + 9

~Subtract 5x to both sides

-x = 9

~Divide -1 to both sides

x = -3

Solve for 4x using x = -3

4(-3) = -12

Therefore, the answer is x = -12

Best of Luck!
