how to respond- carefully remove the glass shards from the wastebasket and put them in a secure container for removal, and check to make sure the student didn’t cut their hand.

how to prevent- don’t play around in the lab, and wear closed toe shoes
how to respond- take Janet to the nurse to make sure she is okay and take her to the hospital if necessary.

how to prevent- clean up earlier so you don’t have to rush when the bell rings. depending on the situation, you could ask your teacher for a pass so you won’t be marked late
