Heather would like to buy a more fuel efficient car instead of the car she is currently

driving. Assuming she can find a car that she can find a car that gets 28 miles per gallon and
her current car only gets 17 miles per gallon, how much will she save in a year if she drives
4,500 miles per year and the price of gasoline is $3.50 per gallon?
O $161
$926
$563

Given :

Average of old car , I = 17 miles per gallon .

Average of new car , F = 28 miles per gallon .

To Find :

How much will she save in a year if she drives 4,500 miles per year and the price of gasoline is $3.50 per gallon .

Solution :

Difference in average of both the cars .

D = F - I = 28 - 17 = 11 miles per gallon .

Money saved in an year is :

P=(4500* 3.5)/(11)\\\\P=\$1431.8

Hence , this is the required solution .
