v = (1 - i
√(3))

uv = (1 + i
√(3))(1 - i
√(3))

uv = 1 - i
√(3) + i
√(3) - (i
√(3))^2

note that i^2 is equal to -1.

The middle also cancels each other out.

If you squared anything that is under a square root, you just drop the square root.

uv = 1 - (-1)*3

uv = 1 + 3

uv = 4
