How to solve:
2(5y+3)-4(7y+1)=-88
10y+6-28-4=-88
-18y=-90
y=5

Solution for Y is 5
(I believe that is correct)

Answer:

y = 5

Explanation:

2(5y + 3) - 4(7y + 1) = - 88

Multiply the terms in the bracket

That's

10y + 6 - 28y - 4 = - 88

- 18y + 2 = - 88

Subtract 2 from both sides

That's

- 18y + 2 - 2 = - 88 - 2

- 18y = - 90

Divide both sides by - 18

( - 18y)/( - 18) = ( - 90)/( - 18)

We have the final answer as

y = 5

Hope this helps you
