Answer: x=10

Explanation:

f(x)=2 is the same things as y=2. Since we know that y=2, you can plug that in to solve for x.

y=(x+6)/(x-2) [plug in y=2]

2=(x+6)/(x-2) [multiply both sides by x-2]

(x-2)2=x+6 [distribute]

2x-4=x+6 [subtract both sides by x]

x-4=6 [add both sides by 4]

x=10

Now after we have plugged in y=2, we know that x=10.
