Answer:

y - 24 = - 7(x + 4)

Explanation:

The equation of a line in point- slope form is

y - b = m(x - a)

where m is the slope and (a, b) a point on the line

Calculate m using the slope formula

m =
(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (- 4, 24) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (7, - 53)

m =
(-53-24)/(7+4) =
(-77)/(11) = - 7

Using m = - 7 and (a, b) = (- 4, 24) , then

y - 24 = - 7(x - (- 4) ) , that is

y - 24 = - 7(x + 4) ← equation in point- slope form

slope m = (24+53)/(-4-7) = -7
y-24=-7(x+4)
