Read the scenario. Monica has identified a small lump in her breast. She is not sure how long the lump has been there. The lump is completely painless. What should Monica do? Answers: (A) monitor the lump weekly for changes in size or shape (B) monitor the lump weekly for changes in pain levels (C) ignore the lump because painless lumps are normal (D) schedule a medical exam with a doctor immediately

D schedule a medical exam with a doctor immediately

Even though it doesn’t hurt it still could be breast cancer. Also it wouldn’t hurt to go to the doctor to get it checked out and it not being cancer. Better safe than sorry.

Hey there!

Well, obviously you shouldn't just ignore the lump, even though it isn't painful. If I were Monica, I would monitor the lump for changes in size. If it is painless, then monitoring the pain level would be useless.

Let me know if this helps :)
