One of the major drivers of the plot of "Ghost Sickness" is the final exam Ana has to take. How is the fact that the story is set in Denver related to the plot point of the final exam?

Many of the stories in Sabrina and Corina touches on changing landscape of Denver and neighborhood. Clifton was Ana's boy fried who often disappears telling Ana that he goes to visits his grandparents on Navajo reservation in New Mexico. But now for many days Ana has not heard from Clifton.

Later on while Ana taking a hot bath, she has avision of Clifton and then she realizes that Clinfton is dead. And then she has Ghost sickness that Clifton in returning.

On her final history exam she has to appear question. On the last page she finds a question foe some extra credit that says to describe the origin myth of the Najavo people. Ana is able to answer the question as she remembers the story that Clifton once told her tenderly about the origin story of Najavo people.
