If this is not the case, please let me know and I can explain. The problem is dealing with two sides, 10 and x. 10 is adjacent to 30 degrees, and x is opposite from 30 degrees. Tan deals with this (remember soh cah toa) Now we have everything to set up a equation.

tan(30) =
(x)/(10)

Multiply both sides by 10 to get x by itself: 10tan(30) = x

x is approximately 5.77.

Height = base * tan(angle)

X = 10 ft x tan(30)

X = 5.7735 feet

Rounded to the nearest hundredth = 5.77 feet.
