Explanation:

4x^2-16=0

Let's factor this equation.

4x^2-16=0

We will need to factor out the left side of the equation.

4(x+2)(x-2)=0

The set factors must be equal to zero.

x+2=0 \\or\\x-2=0

So now we have two answers.

x=-2\\or\\x=2

Hope this helps!

Steps to solve:

4x^2 - 16 = 0

~Add 16 to both sides

4x^2 = 16

~Divide 4 to both sides

x^2 = 4

~Take square root of both sides

x = ±2

Best of Luck!
