How has your family relationships shaped your identity? (Traditions, who raised you, family values, etc)

I grew up as an only child with only my mom, we've gone through a lot but she taught me that perseverance is very important.

Well, my family is homophobic. As to some people who are not straight it may not seem like a big problem, but to me it definitely shaped my identity as it was a big part of me that determined my future partner when I became an adult and depended if I’d have children or not. My family is fairly religious, abiding my principles that you would think would morally mold a person. It deteriorated my mental health as everything that I had done now will be credited in the after life. I’ve learned to be more dependent on myself when I was struggling with who I was since I was internally homophobic of myself and didn’t know how to be happy unless I encouraged myself.
