If someone could please just tell me how to do this that would help a lot. Suppose B is between A and C. Use the Segment Addition Postulate to find x. Then find the length of each segment. AB = 4x+1 BC = 7x-4 AC = 118

Explanation:

AB+BC=AC, so...

4x+1+7x-4=118

Combine like terms

11x-3=118

Solve for x

11x=118+3

11x=121

x=11

Now put x in each equation

AB=4x+1=4(11)+1=44+1=45

BC=7x-4+7(11)-4=77-4=73

AC=45+73=118 (which was given!)
