A bag of marbles contains 15 blue marbles and 25 green marbles. Which of the following shows the fraction of green marbles in the bag?

In total, there are 40 marbles. 25 of those marbles are green. What I did was divide the number of green marbles by fourth, the total number of marbles. (25/40) You should come up with 0.625. Then you convert the decimal into a fraction. 5/8 is equivalent to 0.625. Thus, 5/8 of the marbles are green.

Hope this helps :)

Answer:

5/8.

Explanation:

we first have to find the total amount of marbles in the bag by adding the blue and green marbles.

15 + 25 = 40

40 is the total.

to get the fraction of green marbles, we do 25 over the total number of marbles,

that is....... 25/40.....then we simplify the fraction by dividing both the numerator and the denominator with a common divisor, which will be 5.

25 ÷ 5 = 5

40 ÷ 5 = 8

hence..... 5/8.
