The length of a rectangle is 6 inches more than its width. If 3 inches are taken from the length and added to the width the figure becomes a square with an area of 400 square inches. What are the dimensions of the original figure

The dimensions of a square with area 400 are 20 by 20. This means if 3 inches are taken from the length and added to the width, we get the dimensions were 23 by 17. 23 length 17 widths.
