3(x-2)+7=19

distribute the 3 through the parentheses:

3x-6+7=19

Simplify:

3x+1=19

Move the constant (1) to the right-hand side and change its sign

3x=19-1

Subtract the numbers:

Divide both sides by 3 to get x alone:
