Since the direction of the force is not specified, we will say that it is being applied to the right

Since it is being applied at an angle of 25 degrees, we will have ourselves a triangle ( refer to the image)

So using basic trigonometry, we can find the horizontal and vertical components of the force

Horizontal Component = 40 * Cos 25 = 36.2 N

Vertical Component = 40 * Sin 25 = 1.69 N
