so since * is 20, and we have 2 stars equal to 2 circles,

so, according to the first balance,

2(20) + x = 2(y)

40 + x = 2y --------------------------- let it be equation 1

so, according to the second balance,

3(y) = 2(x) + 2(20)

3y = 2x + 40 ------------------------ let it be equation 2

lets take the value of x from equation 1 and substitute x with that in eq. 2

x = 2y - 40

now, substituting x in eq, 2

3y = 2(2y - 40) + 40

3y = 4y - 80 + 40

3y = 4y - 40

40 = y

substituting the value of y in the equation we made of x

x = 2y - 40

x = 2(40) - 40

x = 40

So, the value of heart = 40

the value of star = 40
