An engineer is trying to design a runway for an airport. He knows that airplanes have the ability to accelerate at 3.3 m/s ^ 2 and it takes 35 seconds for an airplane to lift off the ground. If his blueprint includes a runway that is 1600 meters in length is it long enough

Answer:NO

Explanation:

Given

Acceleration
a=3.3\ m/s^2

Time
t=35\ s

Runway length
l=1600\ m

using
s=ut+(1)/(2)at^2

where s=length of runway

u=initial velocity

a=acceletation

t=time

Substituting values we get

s=0(35)+(1)/(2)(3.3)(35)^2

s=0+2021.25

s=2021.5\ m

Therefore
1600\ m length is not enough
