Let the mass of sucrose be x

Mass% = mass of solute/mass of solute + mass of solvent × 100

0.05 = x/x + 50

0.05(x + 50) = x

0.05x + 2.5 = x

2.5 = x - 0.05x

2.5 = 0.95x

x= 2.5/0.95
