Explanation:

all you do is add the exponents.

3^0 is equal to 0 so that one doesn't matter, you just cross it out.

now you're left with 3^2x3^-8

so add 2+(-8) which is -6 so the answer is: 3^-6

since the exponent is negative, you put a 1 above the problem, making it a fraction: 1/3^-6
