How do to calculate sharing ratios please explain 55 in the ratio of 2:3

Explanation:

when such a ratio is given, then this ratio tells you into how many units in total the whole is split.

in our case here 2:3.

so, we are talking about 2+3 = 5 parts of the whole.

the dude with 2 gets then 2/5 of the whole, and the side with 3 gets 3/5 of the whole.

so that in total 5/5 (or 1 representing the whole) is distributed.

the whole here is 55.

2/5 of 55 is 2×55/5 = 2×11 = 22

3/5 of 55 is 3×55/5 = 3×11 = 33

and so, you can actually also say that the whole (55) is split in the ratio 22:33.

x=11
