Answer:
y = 5
y^2 - 3y + 6
= 5^2 - 3(5) + 6
= 25 - 15 + 6
= 10 + 6
= 16

Plug in 5 for y
5^2-3(5)+6
1) evaluate the power: 25-3(5)+6
2) multiply: 25-15+6
3) add and subtract: 10+6 =16
Answer: 16
