the area of a rectangle is length times width

A = L times W

A = 26. so 36 = L times W

The length is 4 times the width

L = 4W

Thus, we can switch L to 4W in the area equation

36 = 4W ×W = 4W²

36 ÷ 4

=√9

=3cm
