In normal statistics, we calculate range as difference between Maximum Value and Minimum Value of the data given.

However, in group simple frequency distribution, we have what we call interval width which is simply the range of values contained in each interval.

To determine this interval width, we we divide the observed range by the number of intervals chosen.
