Elijah wraps a gift box in the shape of a triangular pyramid. The figure below shows a

net for the gift box.
9.53 ft

If all the triangles are equilateral, how much wrapping paper
did he use, in square feet?

Understanding how to solve...

The base of each triangle is 11 ft, and the height of it is 9 ft.

And then, there are 4 of these triangles. So, as we know, when we do the formula for finding one triangle, we do
SA=(1)/(2) *B*H. But if we have to do it for 2, then we will do...
SA = B*H, and applying that same trick, if we have to do it for 4 of them, we will do
SA =2*B*H

Finding answer:

B = 11

H = 9.53

SA = 2*B*H\\=2*11*9.53\\=2*104.83\\=209.66

Answer:

209.66ft² of wrapping paper was used
