Hey mate ,

We have been given value of perpendicular and hypotenuse of a right angle triangle and asked us to find the missing side i.e the base

  • Perpendicular :- 6 inches
  • Hypotenuse :- 10 inches

So , According to Pythagoras theorem

Hypotenuse ² = Perpendicular² + base²

  • putting the known values ,

(10in.)² = (6in.)² + base²

100 - 36 Inches = base²

64inches = base²

  • transferring the square to the opposite side

√64 inches = base

Base :- 8 inches
