after the passing of king herod, jews were divided. some believed in the prophecy of the messiah , and some jews believed in violence. the prophecy stated that a deliverer/messiah , would come and save the jews from the discrimination they faced. many jewish people believed in this and waited for the deliverer/messiah. members of the other group (the violent group) wanted to attack the romans and push them out of judea.
