coins totaled $6.00. How many dimes does Jan have?

Jan has 28 dimes.

Explanation:

It would take 24 quarters or 60 dimes or 120 nickels to make $6.

So, I simply divided 24 by 3, which is 8 (but I did 7).

7 quarters is 1.75, and 28 dimes make 2.80, and 29 nickels make 1.45

1.75 + 2.80 + 1.45 = $6
