Given :

The acceleration of a piston is given by :

a=r\omega^2cos\ (\omega t-(\pi)/(4))

To Find :

The amplitude of the acceleration of piston .

Solution :

Now , acceleration is :

a=r\omega^2cos\ (\omega t-(\pi)/(4))

Now , amplitude is maximum of any function .

So , maximum value of
cos\ \theta is equal to 1 .

Therefore , amplitude of the acceleration of piston is :

A=r\omega^2

Hence , this is the required solution .
