Given :

Amount of candy Jordan have ,
A=(3)/(8)\ pounds .

Amount left after giving some to brother ,
a=(1)/(10)\ pounds .

To Find :

How much did he give to his brother .

Solution :

Let , amount he gave to his brother is , b .

So ,

\text{Amount left = Total amount -Amount he give to his brother}\\\\a=A-b\\\\b=A-a\\\\b=(3)/(8)-(1)/(10)\\\\b=((3* 10)-8)/(80)\\\\b=(22)/(80)\\\\b=(11)/(40)

So , amount he give to his brother is
(11)/(40) .

Hence , this is the required solution .
