Answer:

Bill has 19$

Explanation:

Bill = b

Ted = t

b = t + 6$

b - t = 6$------equation 1

b + t = 32$------equation 2

(equation 1 - equation 2)

(b - b) + (-t - t) = 6 - 32

0 - 2t = -26

-2t = -26

t = -26/-2

t = -26/-2

t= 13$

(put t = 13$ in equation 1)

b - (13) = 6

b - 13 = 6

b = 6 + 13

b = 19$ (Bill = 19$)

Answer:

B= Bill's money

T= Ted's money

B+T=32

T+6=B

Explanation:

If you rearrange the first equation you get:

B=32-T

You can then substitute the B in that equation with T+6:

T+6=32-T

combine like terms to get T:

2T+6=32

2T=26

T=13

Then plug in 13 for T in either of the first equations to get B:

13+6=B

19=B
