If the stepmother were to be nice to Cinderella, the whole story line would change. The fact that Cinderella is like a servant and maid to her, would change. Possibly resulting in a good type of relationship. If there is not any part where Cinderella is a maid, she would not have met her fairy godmother. Without her and her wish granting, the whole story line would be different. There would be no ball. There would be no meeting of the prince. There would be no leaving of the shoe behind.
