Rotation is a type of motion that includes movement around a point of axis , basically the point of axis is the centre of rotation for the movement to take place.

Revolution is similar to rotation , except that revolution includes rotating around a point of axis , and this point of axis is an object , so the movement takes place around an object , the rotation around an object is called revolution. But , in rotation , movement takes place around a point , but in revolution , movement takes place about an object ( object is treated as a point here , but not in rotation).
