Answer:

32 square feet

Explanation:

Square feet for sand box after flower bed is installed = Area of sandbox - Area of Flower bed.

Area of sandbox

The sandbox is a rectangle so we can find the area simply by multiplying the length by the width.

given length = 10 ft and given width = 6ft

so area = 10 × 6 = 60ft²

Area of flowerbed.

The flower bed is a circle

The area of a circle can be calculated using the formula A = πr²

where r = radius.
The width of the sandbox is the same length as the diameter of the flower bed so diameter = 6ft

To convert diameter to radius we simply divide by 2

So radius = 6/2 = 3ft

So we have A = πr²

==> plug in r = 3

A = π(3)²

==> evaluate exponent

A = π9

==> multiply π and 9

A = 28 ( rounded )

Area for sand.

again area for sand = area of sandbox - area of flower bed

Area of sandbox = 60

Area of flower bed = 28

Area for sand = 60 - 28 = 32
