In this story we learn that a man named Montresor, wants to take revenge on his neighbor, Fortunato, because he was humiliated by him. This revenge causes Montresor to handcuff Fortunato and leave him trapped in a brick wall. He really does that and listens to Fortunato's screams, imprisoned, until he dies.

In this story I sympathize with Fortunato because I don't believe that torture, like what happened to him, is the right way to get revenge. Also, I don't believe that revenge is a good way to resolve grievances, as nothing will change what happened.
