(-5)2 parentheses mean multiply and 5*2 would be -10 and the -52 would stay the same

Answer:

(-5)2 would become -10, whereas -52 would just stay the same. Normally, a number next to parentheses without any other signs (+,-,×,÷) means that you multiply.
