5 Males for every 4 female. 40/5 = 8. 4 x 8 = 32. 32 Females

Answer:

5 males : 4 females

40 males : X females

5/40 =4/X

(cross multiplication)

5x = 4*40

5x = 160

(divide both sides by 5)

X = 32

therefore, there are 32 females at the camp
