Answer:

The two numbers are 5 and 1. Their product is 5

Explanation:

x + y = 6 (*)

x - y = 4 (**)

Let (*) + (**)

--> (x+y) + (x-y) = 6 + 4

<=> 2x = 10 <=> x = 5

Substitute x= 5

(*) <=> 5 + y = 6

<=> y=1

Answer: (x,y) = (5,1)

Their product: x.y = 5x1 = 5
