Find the distance between X (5, 7) and Y (-6, 6).

Answer: 11.0 or 11

Explanation:

To find the distance first find the difference between the coordinates. find the change in the x and y coordinates and square them to add them to get a number and find the square root of that same number to find the distance.

x coordinates: 5-(-6)= 11

y coordinate: 7-6 = -1

Now square them

11^2 + 1^2 = l^2 where l is the distance

121 + 1 = l^2

122 =l^2

l =
√(122)

l = 11.045 Rounded to the nearest tenth is 11.0
