Can anyone help me with this math problem? There are 5 pharmacists where 2 work 35 hours a week, and another 2 work 40 hours a week. While the other is undetermined. Although, the average amount of hours worked among the 5 employees is 40 hours. Use algebra to figure out the value of the undetermined employee’s hours, aka x. By

Greetings from Brasil...

The expression that allows to calculate the average would be:

M = (A + B + C + D + E )/5

where A, B, C, D and E are the pharmacists....

A and B = work 35

C and D = works 40

E = ??

average = M = 40

M = (A + B + C + D + E )/5

40 = (35 + 35 + 40 + 40 + E)/5

200 = 150 + E

E = 200 - 150

E = 50

So, pharmacists E works 50h/week
