Respiration is a cellular process. Meaning , it only occurs in the cells of the living organism. Basically it is a biochemical process in which cells use oxygen and glucose supplied from nutrients , and combine the oxygen and glucose , and after combining them , it releases energy in the form of carbon dioxide , water and ATP molecule.
Also , respiration can also be done without oxygen called anaerobic respiration.
Respiration done with oxygen is called aerobic respiration
