Answer:

\boxed{ \bold{ \huge{ \boxed{ \sf{x = - 19}}}}}

Explanation:

\sf{ - 3 = 12x - 5(2x - 7)}

Distribute 5 through the parentheses

\sf{ - 3 = 12x - 10x + 35}

Collect like terms

\sf{ - 3 = 2x + 35}

Swap the sides of the equation

\sf{2x + 35 = - 3}

Move 45 to right hand side and change it's sign

\sf{2x = - 3 - 35}

Calculate

\sf{2x = - 38}

Divide both sides of the equation by 2

\sf{ (2x)/(2) = ( - 38)/(2) }

Calculate

\sf{x = - 19}

Hope I helped!

Best regards!!
