Draw a number line. Plot -1 on the number line and make this a filled in circle. Shade to the right of the filled in circle to indicate the set of values x such that
$x \ge -1$

So x could be -1 or it could be larger. The fact that x = -1 is possible is why we have a closed or filled in circle (instead of an open hole) at this endpoint.
