Mean score of John = (35 + 36 + 42 + 44) ÷ 4 = 39.25%

Mean score for Josephine = (60 + 55 + 38 + 75) ÷ 4 = 57%

Josephine passed the examination because she had a mean score of 57%, and also scored 33% and above in each test.
