To do this you would first have the equation
5(x+4)=12 and then you could multiply the x+5 by 5 which is 5x+25 so then your equation would be
5x+25=12 then you would subtract 25 from both sides to cancel out the 25 so then your equation would look like this
5x=-13 then you would divide from both sides to just get x so you would get
x=(-13)/(5) so you could leave it as is or you could turn it into a decimal which is -2.6
